Chisholm main building projects were; Ass't Supt. for the foundation of the US Social Security Payment Center in Chicago (right out of the University of Virginia). Years later he was Project Manager for Colony Park Office Park, Collegiate Square Shopping Center & Ivy Gardens Apartment Complex in Blacksburg, VA. He conceived Collegiate Square Shopping Center and the Ivy Gardens project. Initially he was 50% owner of the apartment complex and 100% owner of the shopping center. Construction Management principles carry over from all construction work.

Located a hidden piece of land 25 meters from 24,000 student VA Tech Campus.
- Designed 60 unit complex for graduate student housing.
- Obtained financing and zoning.
- Constructed the apartments in 84 days! (From the day the slab was poured until the day the first person moved in.)
- First privately owned Apartment Complex in the United States with direct computer links from every apartment to the university mainframe (VA Tech).
- Completed project at less than 50% of bank appraisal.
- Fully furnished, air conditioned, total electric apartments had an electric bill of approximately $10 per apartment per month.
- Received landscape and architecture award.
- Saved 90 out of 105 trees on the site.
- 100% leased within three months.
